I just titled that like that because well it's catchy.
Does Jesus care? Sure, so much that he was willing to die.
Does he capitulate to peer pressure? If you consider when He turned water into wine then I guess. It does seem a bit of a special circumstance though.
Jesus doesn't seem about efficiency. He walked from Jerusalem to the region of Tyre and Sidon just to say no to a woman with a demon possessed child. He did eventually say yes but not at first for sure. Then he left and walked back to the sea.
The he walked from one place to another.
He told people no.
He told the disciples to figure out how to feed the 5,000.
He walked and walked and walked and zig zagged all over Israel.
Just for kicks lets say that I was going to have to figure this out: get the most out of three years. You have 36 months to do cool stuff and leave your mark on the world.
I would go get a bunch of fishermen and take them from their boats and all that they are familiar with and walk them around the country.
I would walk everywhere and never buy a horse or even a mule.
I would walk circuitous meandering paths around the country.
I would make sure to not get connected with the big names of the day and make sure that I don't under any circumstances network. I would make sure to alienate myself and get on the bad side of every authority I could find.
Nah, our Lord seemed not interested in anything except following the Spirit, moving in power, pleasing His father, modeling the faith and really ignoring all of the people that seem so important on earth.
From time to time I am searching for just the right words in prayer to get some action, some movement and get my will done. Jesus seemed very focused on living a different agenda and if here on Earth He cannot be pressured into delivering then I am doubtful that He can be persuaded while in glory surrounded by the songs and sounds of glory.
I think a better strategy might be to seek His face before you seek His hands; I think then you would be one of those guys that when they pray heaven moves.
